PURPOSE:To obtain a white balance device that can make good color reproduction even when luminance of an object is low in a dark place and does not cause failure in photographing by changing setting of white balance according to the level of a luminance signal. CONSTITUTION:In case where luminance of an object is low and no sufficient signal is obtained to adjust white balance, the level of a luminance signal inputted to a comparator 18 goes to lower than reference power source E, and the output of the comparator 18 goes to L. Consequently, a switch circuit 21 turns off and its change-over switch is connected to the reference power source sides ER, EB. When a switch 20 for setting white balance is operated (on) under this condition, the voltage of reference power sources ER, EB is stores respectively in voltage memories 10, 11, and the gain of R, B signals is controlled by the voltage. If the reference power sources ER, EB are set to correspond to, for instance, a standard light source of 3,200 deg.K, even when the operation of white balance adjustment is made under dark condition, setting is changed automatically to standard setting. |
