<p>PURPOSE:To set or release plural logical links at the same time between two terminal devices by transmitting a call packet displaying that plural logical links are used in a header at the same time, and setting a prescribed number of logical links. CONSTITUTION:Terminal devices 11, 12 operated in the packet mode are connected respectively to a packet exchange 1 via lines 13, 14. An identification number B from the terminal device 11 to the terminal device 12, a service identification number B from the terminal device 11 to the terminal device 12, a service identification code S, the youngest number alpha of a logical channel used for communication, and a call packet 101 displaying in the header a multiplicity (n) is transmitted to the exchange 1. The exchange 1 selects n sets of idle channels beta from an accommodated position Y of the line 14 and transmits a call packet 102 displaying an identification number A of the terminal device 11 and the code S in the header to the terminal device 12. When the terminal device 12 returns a response packet 103, the exchange 1 transmits a communicable packet 104 to the terminal device 11. Furthermore, n channels of data packets 105-116 are transmitted and received mutually, and each packet of restoration request 117, interruption command 118, interruption confirmation 119, and restoration confirmation 120 is transmitted and received via the exchange.</p> |
