PURPOSE:To obtain the iron core of good workability for manufacture by minimizing the deterioration of magnetic characteristics due to the processing of a magnetic thin band by a method wherein the laminar end plane of the iron core formed by a magnetic thin band is covered with a insulating inorganic layer and further it is impregnated with an insulating synthetic resin. CONSTITUTION:The laminar end plane of the iron core formed by a magnetic thin band 1 is covered with an insulating inorganic layer 3. If a magnetostriction of said thin band 1 is positive, a thermal expansion coefficient of the inorganic layer 3 is made to be smaller than that of the magnetic thin band 1, and if the magnetostriction of the thin band 1 is negative, the thermal expansion coefficient of the inorganic layer 3 is made to be larger than that of the magnetic thin band 1. Further the insulating resin is impregnated. As the thickness of the magnetic thin band 1 is thinner, the thickness of the inorganic layer 3 can be thinner in order to obtain the effect. As the resin to be impregnated in the inorganic layer 3, epoxy resin or the like is preferable. Consequently, the decline of magnetic characteristics at manufacture of an iron core due to the magnetic thin band 1 is prevented and fixing among the magnetic thin bands 1 can be performed sufficiently so that the fixing of the iron core is not necessary and parts or auxiliary material such as an coil case is not necessary thereby increasing the workability for manufacture. |
