Accelerated fermentation process for towns compost consists in draining and aerating the base of the heap of compost to be treated, evacuating the heat produced inside the heap and in injecting, in a variable, periodic and automatic manner, definite quantities of water into the heap. The heap is arranged on the ground over longitudinal drains which open into a transverse channel. Two series of lateral drains are implanted in the heap and are inclined slightly towards the interior. They open into the air in a space arranged between two heaps. Water is fed into these lateral drains, through a pipe system with flexible tubes, as a function of the zone to be humidified and of the temp. prevailing in the heap. A temp. probe controls the water feed through a cistern with an emptying syphon.
|
