PURPOSE:To attain duplex mode transmission without using a switch by inputting respectively an output of a pulse mode travelling wave tube and an output of a CW mode travelling wave tube to two exciting terminals having an angle difference of 90 deg. of a dual polarized horn. CONSTITUTION:An output of a high-frequency oscillator 6 is divided at a distributor 5 into two signals having a different phase of 90 deg., they are power-amplified by the pulse mode travelling wave tube 3 and the CW mode travelling wave tube 4 and inputted respectively to the input terminals 13, 14 of the dual polarized horn via a 3dB coupler 7. Since the electric field exciting angle in the horn for the input terminals 13 and 14 is different mechanically by 90 deg., the signals are superimposed on the relation of the said phase by timewise 90 deg. and the result is radiated from the horn as a circularly polarized wave. Since the signal in the CW mode travelling wave tube is different only in the relation of phase from that of the pulse mode travelling wave tube from 90 deg. oppositely, the signal is radiated from the horn as a circularly polarized wave rotated oppositely to that of the pulse mode travelling wave tube. |
