PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of breakage by a method wherein rectangular column-type wall surface constituting body, equipped with communicating holes communicating with through holes arranged on the wall surface of a frame body, are piled up slidably and ceramic pipes are suspended in parallel to the axial direction between the wall surface of one side and respective wall surface constituting bodies by compression springs cooled by fluid to be heated. CONSTITUTION:When high-temperature exhaust gas is flowed through a heat transfer fluid flow path in the frame body 1 and normal-temperature air is sent into a plurality of ceramic pipes 5 communicated with the through holes 10, 10' of opposing wall surfaces 2, 2', heat exchange is effected between the high- temperature exhaust gas and air through the pipe walls of the ceramic pipes 5. The ceramic pipes 5 are pinchingly held by the slidable wall surface constituting bodies 7, 7' constituting wall bodies 7a, 7a' at both ends thereof through the resilient forces of compression springs 14 provided between at least respective wall surface constituting body 7 and the wall surface 2 of one side individually. Further, the compression springs 14 are cooled at all times under being exposed to the flow of the fluid to be heated. According to this method, heat may be retrieved efficiently, the breakage of the ceramic pipes may be prevented and the compression springs may be used for a long period of time. |
