PURPOSE:To form easily a light source which appears to be spherical by rotating an electric discharge lamp around the luminance center of the arc therof or near the same with the direction perpendicular to the running direction of the arc as a revolving shaft. CONSTITUTION:An electric discharge lamp is rotated around the center 6 of the luminance light of a cathode 3 and an anode 4 forming said lamp or near the same with the Y-Y axis perpendicular to the direction X-X where the arc travels as the central axis. When electric discharge is made between the cathode 3 and the anode 4, the luminance center comes to a position 6 deviated from the central point. A luminance curve 5 is made also asymmetrical with the central point 6 and the luminance is distributed like the curve (a). Now if the lamp is rotated around the Y-axis, the luminance is distributed like (b) or (c) (when the center of rotation deviates slightly from 6). The light source which appears to be spherical is thus easily constituted and the method is adequate for baking of fine dots to a cathode ray tube. |
