The loading device comprises a rail 1 which can be removed from the roof 8 of a car 2 and supported at its free end by a prop 3, a lifting mechanism 4 for a handicapped person 5 and a bearing member 6 in the shape of a harness made from plastic-covered metal sheet comprising a hooking bar 13. The lifting mechanism 4 comprises a carriage with four rollers 26. A crank 30 is intended to turn a toothed wheel 32 engaging with a chain 36 hooked to the bar 13 of the bearing member 6. The handicapped person 5, attached on the bearing member 6, is raised by rotating the crank 30 to the desired height. A clipping-in mechanism makes it possible to prevent the handicapped person 5 from descending unintentionally. The person is then moved without effort into the car 2 and lowered onto the seat of the car after having disengaged the clipping-in mechanism. <IMAGE> |
