The trailer has a wheeled chassis, from which front and rear pairs of columns extend. The columns are approx. upright, and hinge on the chassis. The columns have rollers at their free ends over which supporting ropes run. - The ropes are fixed at their ends to the columns, so as to support the boat and relieve the keel of load when in transit. The rollers in the columns are mounted on thrusters, typically hydraulic rams, so as to stretch or slacken the respective supporting ropes. |
