摘要

PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and image quality by forming a photosensitive layer contg. both of a coupler for coupling with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and producing a mobile dye, and coupler for coupling at lower speed and producing a immobile dye. CONSTITUTION:At least one photosensitive layer formed on a support contains both of a photographic coupler W for coupling with the oxidized product of a color developing agent and producing a mobile dye, and a photosensitive coupler P for coupling lower in speed than W and producing a substantially immobile dye. The coupler W is represented by formula I in qhich COUP is a coupler nucleus for producing a dye; a stabilizing group (a) combines with the coupling position of COUP group and it can be released when the coupler couples with said oxidized product. The control group (b) combines with the noncoupling position of the COUP group and renders the produced dye mobile. Such a coupler is examplified by formulae II, III, and IV. Known couplers for forming immobile dyes are used for the coupler P.
