<p>A machine for the flame treatment of textile fabric webs (27), particularly a singeing machine, comprises a burner unit (35) having a combustion chamber leading to a singeing slot and connected to a gas mixing chamber (39) through a mixture supply slot (7). To contribute to energy saving, it should be possible to continuously adjust the width of the working flame without incurring large maintenance expenses, particularly an automatic adaptation of the flame width to the width of the corresponding fabric web (27) should be possible. To this effect, the burner unit (35) is provided with one or two flexible closure hoses (13) which may be inserted from one, respectively from the two front sides of the burner unit, for the mixture supply slot (7), which are rolled with their outer terminal segments to a bobbin (33) rotating to displace the inner end of the closure hoses (13).</p> |
