<p>The installation comprises two rows of storage racks (1, 2) with compartments (6) wherein are stored flat objects (7). The racks (1, 2) are arranged at a certain interval from each other so that a passage (11) is provided between them. An elevator machine (10) may circulate along the racks (1, 2) in the passage (11). It comprises a displacement device (12) as well as a lifting mast (13) arranged thereon. The displacement device (12) is comprised of a frame (16) of which the terminal parts (14, 15) are provided with wheels (19) enabling the displacement of the elevator machine (10) along the bearing stands or racks (1, 2). In the displacement unit (12) a rotating plate (30) is incorporated whereon the lifting mast (13) is fixed. The displacement unit (12) of the storage installation (10) is so low that it may pass under the compartments (6) of the storage racks (1, 2), thereby avoiding to loose a large storage volume. Thus, the passage (11) for such an installation may be extremely narrow.</p> |
