PURPOSE:To manufacture a steel strip producing no gold dust by carrying out successive pickling with hydrochloric acid and nitric acid each having a specified concn. in a pickling stage when a ferritic or martensitic stainless steel strip is manufactured. CONSTITUTION:When a ferritic or martensitic stainless steel strip is manufactured by passing through a hot rolling stage, a continuous annealing or short- time annealing stage, a mechanical predescaling stage, a pickling stage and a cold rolling stage, in the pickling stage, pickling is first carried out with 5- 35wt% hydrochloric acid. Pickling is then carried out with 5-20wt% nitric acid. A cold rolled stainless steel strip producing no gold dust and having favorable surface conditions is obtd. |
