PURPOSE:To keep constant the tension of a wire electrode downstream to a wire electrode brake, namely, the tension of the wire electrode in a machining region, by supplying an appropriate quantity of the wire electrode while maintaining it at almost constant tension. CONSTITUTION:A wire electrode delivery unit 7, which is driven by an electric motor, is provided between a wire electrode send-out unit 2 and a wire electrode brake 6. A movable pulley unit 9 having a function of regulating the delivered quantity of a wire electrode 1 is provided between the delivery unit 7 and the brake 6. A means 18 for controlling the delivery unit 7 to keep nearly fixed the height of the movable pulley unit 9 is provided to supply an appropriate quantity of the wire electrode 1 to the brake 6 while maintaining the wire electrode at almost constant tension, so that the tension of the electrode downstream to the brake, namely, the tension of the electrode in a machining region is kept constant. |
