PURPOSE:To automate assemble work on a cylinder through an equipment, by providing a means for press-fitting a flange on the open end of the cylinder as the cylinder supplied by a feed means is pushed. CONSTITUTION:A box containing cylinders is conveyed to the material feed position of a robot 9 by the cylinder stocker 8 of an assembly equipment so that the box is positioned. Each positioned cylinder is fitted on a guide jig 7 on a jig 2 by the robot 9 having a chucking unit which holds the cylinder on parallel lines on the inside of the cylinder and can center the cylinder. Since the cylinder on the jig 2 is guided by the jig 7 and the press-fitting head of a unit 10 for press-fitting the cylinder and a lower flange on each other, the squareness between the cylinder and the lower flange press-fitted thereon is ensured. According to this constitution, assembly work which would be conventionally performed by human hands is automatically effected. |
