Hard facing valves for internal combustion engine - using actuator with gripping jaws for assembling and transfer of parts

Appts. for hard facing internal combustion engine valves comprises an actuator having a pair of articulated gripping jaws adapted to receive and hold a valve and a hinged support for receiving an alloy ring. A manipulator carries the actuator and can turn the latter in horizontal and vertical planes for conveying the valve and alloy ring from a receiving area to a fusion or welding zone. A heater is provided at the zone for fusing the alloy ring while the stem of the valve is upwardly directed. A positive stop and an adjustable stop are respectively mounted at the receiving area and fusion zone to control the jaw moving operation. The appts. is simple in construction and easy in operation.
