PURPOSE:To increase the oxygen absorption rate of a negative electrode so as to prevent a rise of the internal pressure of the cell, swelling of the cell due to the above-mentioned rise or leakage of the liquid by separating the knealed body composed of an electrode material and a binding agent into a plurality of parts on a current collecting body, in a sealed type secondary cell having a binding type negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:The knealed body 1 composed of an electrode material and a binding agent is applied on both sides of the current collecting body 2. This knealed body 1 is separated into a plurality of parts (4 parts in the diagram). Due to this construction, some parts of the current collecting body 2 is exposed and grooves are formed between the knealed bodies. Accordingly, even if the negative electrode is very closely placed to the positive electrode having a separator in between, these parts remain as grooves. Thus oxygen is introduced into these grooves and its absorption rate is increased. |
