PURPOSE:To eliminate a deficiency in space resolution and improve the ability in diagnosis by providing a means which switches an image readout display means between a high-speed, low-resolution operation (normal) mode and a low- speed, high-resolution operation (fine) mode upon occasion. CONSTITUTION:When the normal mode is selected by a controller CC, a computer 10 controls an image reader 4', image processor 5', and image recorder 6' to obtain an X-ray image in a short time although it has relatively low resolution. When sufficiently high space resolution is required for diagnosis, the fine mode is selected. In this case, the image reader 4', image processor 5', and image recorder 6' read, process, and record an image with high definition. A laser beam diameter decreased and the movement of an X-ray image storage sheet and a film 7 is slowed down accordingly; and the number of picture elements per one sheet of picture increases and the arithmetic and processing of the image processor 5' are performed matching with the increase in the number of picture elements. Consequently, the deficiency in space resolution is eliminated and the resolution is improved. |
