PURPOSE:To prevent the useful life of a thermal head from being shortened, by a method wherein a thermal recording paper is separated from the ground potential of a power source, and an electric circuit composed of a thermal head brought into contact with the paper or the like is constructed in an open state so that electrolysis does not occur even when the moistened paper comes into contact with the head. CONSTITUTION:The thermal recording paper is separated from the ground potential of the power source 19, and the electric circuit comprising the thermal head 10 brought into contact with the paper and the power source 19 connected to a common electrode of the thermal head 10 is constructed in an open state. Preferably, a base member 14 brought into contact with the paper is connected to the ground potential through a surge voltage absorbing element 41 which is non- passing in a normal state. |
