With a process for accepting or recording measuring data of a heating installation - such as flue-gas temperature, CO2, O2 and SO2 analysis results, smoke-density measurements or the like - as well as a device or an instrument for this, it is intended to be able to monitor a heating installation over the entire year with the same sensors and transmit recurring control signals to the heating installation. For this purpose, the measuring data are transmitted via analog and/or digital inputs of a writing unit in dependence on control signals of a heating installation and are recorded on a recording chart. For recording the measuring data determined by the sensors, the instrument particularly suitable for this is provided with channel inputs having analog and/or digital inputs, which transmit the measuring data to a writing unit which can be excited by control signals of a burner and is assigned to a rotatable recording chart. Since both analog and digital outputs are provided, this indicating instrument can be very flexible with respect to the sensors to be used.
