Signals are fed to a transmitter for conversion to mechanical tension variations in a photo-elastical material (5), where the transmitter incorporates at least one optic fibre (1) for excitation and extraction of optical energy. The extracted optical energy, through transmission or reflection and photo-luminescence from at least one body, is divided into at least identical separable wavelength ranges (15). At least one of these wavelength ranges is activated as to its intensity by the mechanical tension variations in the photo-elastic material (5) through the effect of at least one polarising filter (3), with the intensity of at least another of the wavelength ranges lacking tension dependence. The transmitter contains at least one so-called gradient index lens (2,9), and at least two photo-luminescent materials with luminescence in different wavelength ranges. |
