PURPOSE:To discriminate whether or not an error is due to an abnormality of a communication interface section at a terminal device side by means of a data set ready (DR) signal detecting means and a transmission enable (CS) signal detecting means when it is confirmed by a timer monitoring means that a transmission data is not transmitted within a prescribed time limit. CONSTITUTION:It is due to the circumstance of the communication device side and a line error such as disconnection of cable between the communication device and a terminal device that the CS signal is ''false'', and in any case, when the CS signal is ''false'' or a transmission inhibiting time is consecutive in excess of a prescribed period even if the CS signal is not ''false'', the information representing the fact is transmitted to a CPU12 from a transmission timeout detection section 24, and the CPU12 executes the error processing according to a program code written in an ROM14. |
