Probe is provided with an opening, which sealingly engages the needle during insertion, and an easily opened and closed member to seal the opening when the needle is not present. The closure member is pref. opened by needle insertion and closes under its own spring force and/or pressure of liq. opposite to the insert direction. The distal tube connection end of the catheter needle may have two flats parallel to the plane in which the proximal end is curved.
