<p>A device is used to hold a door open for a limited period of time. It is particularly useful in hospital or hotel corridor, when a trolley is to be pushed past the door. It consists basically of a suction cup (3) attached to the door so that when the door is swung back against the wall of the corridor, the cup is pressed against the wall, and holds the door open. The cup can be made of rubber or plastics material, and incorporates an element controlling the leakage of air into the rear of the cup so that the suction is a valve and a spring may be used to increase the suction release action.</p> |
