This drive mechanism, applicable in particular to garage doors, comprises a geared motor 3 fixed to the ceiling 2 of the garage, whose output shaft 5 is directed vertically towards the ceiling 2 and carries a connecting rod 6 extending in the immediate vicinity of the latter, preferably having a length substantially equal to half the height of the door 1. A bar 8 is articulated to the free end of the connecting rod 6 and to the top of the door 1. It has a length substantially equal to that of the connecting rod. The geared motor is preferably mounted in a position which is separated, for example by a quarter of the height of the door 1, from the median plane of the latter. In the closed state of the door, the connecting rod 6 and the bar 8 are substantially aligned. This arrangement, which provides a compact geared motor, of great robustness, rotating slowly and lubricated for life, allows a faster movement for operating the door, with progressive motion at the start and end of the travel, to be obtained. <IMAGE> |
