Ash from the combustion is removed and mixed with fuel and a known quantity of moisture is incorporated either by absorbtion or evaporation. - The fuel e.g. coal passes to a store and then to a hopper. It then passes to a buffer silo, doser and, a crusher, distributer and a multi fluidised bed furnace. The upper part of this latter arrangement has a sulphur absorbent e.g. chalk. Exhausted gas leaves via the fitter, fan and chimney. |
