Xenotransplant, especially for surgery of the middle ear, and method for preparing it

The xenotransplant, which can be used in particular for tympanoplasty, consists of a fragment of foetal calf pericardium of sufficient surface area to constitute the transplant (less than 5 cm<2> for tympanoplasty). This fragment is treated with gamma rays to sterilise it and to eliminate organic matter other than collagen.
