The newspaper dispenser, with a dissuasive effect, is equipped with a cash box including a slot (15) inside which the coins are inserted and two shutters (12, 7) making it possible to trap the coins in order to view them through the window (6). The two shutters are actuated by the lever (16) linked to the shaft of the flap giving access to the newspapers and which, in its rotational movement, successively frees the lower shutter (7), locks it again then frees the upper shutter so that only the coins from the last client remain visible until arrival of a new client. <IMAGE>
