<p>A method of obtaining a hermetic seal capable of withstanding underwater pressure conditions by the controlled use of a circulating refridgerant within a tubular coil or other system set within or adjacent to the surfaces to be mated so as to freeze the adjacent water thereby enabling a pressure differential to exist on either side of the seal sufficient for personnel to perform work within the sealed area at pressures which do not require saturation of the body with "diving gas".</p> |
