<p>PURPOSE:To restrain backlashes and gaps, in an unrotatable pad section type steering wheel, by coupling two gears with the use of a resilient member which rotates and urges the gears in opposite directions. CONSTITUTION:When a steering operation is performed, two planetary gears 5 rotate and revolve around upper and lower sun gears 3a, 3b on the column section 7 side and the pad section 1 side, respectively, in association with the rotation of a boss plate 11. Since the sun gear 3b secured to the column section 7 and the upper sun gear 3a on the column section 7 side are coupled together by means of a resilient member 6, the upper sun gear 3a does not rotate. Further, the lower sun gear 3b on the pad section 1 side does not rotate similar to the upper sun gear 3a, and therefore, the pad section 1 secured to the sun gear 3b falls in a nonrotating condition.</p> |
