A head restraint assigned to a rear seat back-rest of a motor vehicle can be transferred via supporting arms, which are guided in sliding rails which are curve-shaped and are attached to the rear seat back-rest, from an in-use position into a storage position. In the latter position, the head restraint is accommodated by a recess let into the rear parcel shelf and the supporting arms are arranged in a concealed manner.
