Device for the support and rigid holding, at a distance from a bearing surface (16), of horizontal portions of a pipe (1) subject to considerable variations in temperature causing thermal expansions, the distance from the bearing surface being imposed by these expansions. It comprises at least one articulated parallelogram, the two lower arms (6, 7) of which are articulated in a cross-wise fashion on a lower pivot (30) and are each connected at their lower end to a fixed point (4, 5) relative to the pipe in the axial direction, the two points being on a same generatrix of the pipe, and the two upper arms are articulated on an upper pivot (34) maintained at a fixed vertical distance from the bearing surface. <IMAGE>
