A sealing device comprises an annular elastomeric element (10) having a circumferential portion (11) rendered rigid by a metal inclusion (12), and a relatively flexible portion (13) for engagement with a shaft (18). A plurality of resilient webs (16) are integral with the portions (11, 13) and extend therebetween to bias the flexible portion (13) into sealing contact with the shaft (18).
