<p>Ores and concentrates contg. heavy metal minerals, e.g. Zn, Cu, Fe, Cd, Ni, Co, Pb as sulphides, selenides, tellurides, arsenides and/or antimonides are mechanically crushed, mainly by impact, esp. in a vibratory mill, to upset crystal structure strongly with formation of lattice deformations and/or -gaps, followed by stirring in a vessel contg. an oxidising leaching agent. Process may be speeded up by admixing ores/concentrates with aggregates, e.g. quartz sand, before or during crushing. Oxidising agent may be a gas, esp. air, or a polyvalent cation or oxidising anion, esp. used in 200 g/l concn.</p> |
