An alarm system for detecting unauthorized intrusion into a vehicle and determining the location of such vehicle includes a vehicle alarm and one or more networks for receiving the output signal from vehicle alarm. The vehicle alarm includes a transmitter for broadcasting a low frequency modulated radio frequency alarm signal at the citizen band distress frequency and a control unit for selectively activating the alarm upon a drop in the voltage magnitude of the vehicle power supply induced by an unauthorized intrusion. The various networks include citizen band radio detectors, mobile dedicated alarm detectors, and fixed dedicated alarm detectors accompanied by a display unit.
