A novel, at least predominantly open-pored PU foam material with noise-reducing properties is disclosed, which can be adhesively attached to a thin-walled backing material and has the properties of both insulating from airborne sound and damping structure-borne sound. The foam material is characterised by a structure based on castor oil and, if required, polyalcohol, especially polyglycol, as well as by a material density of at least 120 kgm<-3>. Here, the material density can be determined by the addition of low-cost organic and/or inorganic fillers. In particular the proportion of polyalcohol determines the temperature at which the damping maximum is achieved. The proportion can be locally different, so that optimum damping can be achieved depending on the service temperature reached locally by the wall to be acoustically insulated. The overall layer thickness can be reduced by providing a flexible, especially rigid surface covering of the foam material with an improvement of the structure-borne sound damping and the airborne-sound insulation. <IMAGE> |
