The present invention encompasses a family of new heterocyclic steroids, in which the ring A contains heteroatoms, of general formula: <IMAGE> in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyne group, both of alpha and beta configuration, especially an ethynyl group; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, an ether or an ester (including acetate, propionate, butyrate, cyclopropyl-, cyclobutyl- and cyclopentylcarboxylate, hemisuccinate, valerate, oenanthate andundecanoate); R1 and OR2 represent a ketone; n corresponds to 1; and X corresponds either to a nitrogen atom or to an oxygen atom or to an NCO group. The invention also encompasses the method for preparing such steroids.
