PURPOSE:To abandon data in the non-precedence side and to improve the throughput if contention occurs, by registering preliminarily precedence/non-precendence of transmission and reception between a pair of a data terminal station under the service of each data exchange and the other-party station in the data exchange. CONSTITUTION:If data terminals DTE12-3 and DTE12-4 transmit data to the other-party data terminals simultaneously to cause contention in a network, an exchange 10-4 checks the state of a precedence/non-precedence discriminator 23 corresponding to LCN=3 in a logic connection correspondence table 11 and discriminates that the data terminal DTE12-4 under the service of the exchange itself has the priority, and receives data from the data terminal DTE12-3 is abandoned. Meanwhile, an exchange 10-3 checks the state of the precedence/non- precedence discriminator 23 in the logic connection correspondence table 11 similarly when contention of data is detected, and the exchange 10-3 discriminates that the data terminal DTE12-3 under the service of the exchange itself has not the priority, and data from the data terminal 12-4 is transmitted to the data terminal DTE12-3. |
