The invention relates to hot trough mangles for moist laundry articles, of which the heating elements, such as mangle troughs and trough bridges, are heated by a flowable heat-exchange medium and the perforated mangle cylinders of which are connected to a suction device for the moist and hot outgoing air. The aim of the invention is effectively to reduce the energy consumption of hot trough mangles. The object on which the invention is based is effectively to return a large part of the waste heat not used on a hot trough mangle to the latter. This object is achieved, according to the invention, in that there is provided a closed circuit for a second heat-exchange medium, in which a conveying device for the second heat-exchange medium, devices for transferring heat from the outgoing air and/or from the first heat-exchange medium to the second heat-exchange medium and a device for transferring heat from the second heat-exchange medium to the incoming air are present. <IMAGE>
