A gas mixture (12) is passed through a tubular line (14) which is surrounded by a coolant (16) whose temperature is below the water dew point of the gas mixture. A plurality of thermoelements (T1-T12) are arranged equidistantly along the line (12) in predetermined positions (P1-P12). The temperature values measured by the thermoelements (T1-T12) are plotted in a diagram against the positions (P1-P12), resulting in an exponential curve for the temperature values above the water dew point and a linear curve for the temperature values below the water dew point, the intersection or the discontinuity between the two curves indicating the dew point temperature. In a further embodiment, the gas mixture is passed, with various flow velocities, through the line in which a single thermoelement is provided which supplies temperature values for each flow velocity. A diagram, in which the temperature values are plotted against the corresponding flow velocities, contains two different temperature profile curves. The intersection of the two curves is the water dew point. <IMAGE> |
