PURPOSE:To manufacture a surface skin having complicated and clear-cut letters or patterns by a method in which a thermoplastic synthetic resin powder is charged into a cavity and melted by heating to bond it to a decorating material. CONSTITUTION:An electroformed mold 2 having a cavity 2a of a shape of product is heated to a given temperature by a heater 3. A decorating material 4 formed by printing a letter or pattern on a thermoplastic flat synthetic resin sheet is set in place on the cavity face of the mold 2. A thermoplastic powder 5a is then charged into the cavity, the mold 2 is heated by the heater 6 to raise the temperature of the mold 2, and the powder 5a situated on the peripheral portion of the cavity is melted to integrate the thermoplastic synthetic resin layer 5 with the decorating material 4 to obtain a surface skin 7 as a product from the mold 2. |
