TWIN BELT TYPE CONTINUOUS CASTING PLANT

PURPOSE:To prevent bulging of a billet and to enable high-speed casting by disposing rolls used to apply tension to upper and lower endless belts and to steer said belts to the endless belts and disposing roller aprons via final backup rolls and guide skids in proximity to upper and lower outlet drums. CONSTITUTION:Outlet drums 3 are fitted pivotally to frames 8 and steering rolls 16 are provided to upper and lower carriages 5, 6. Vertical moving mechanisms which apply tension to the rolls 16 and rotating mechanisms for steering said rolls at a required angle around the center in the longitudinal direction are provided to the carriage 5, 6. Final backup rolls 13' can be therefore disposed in proximity to the drums 3. Upper and lower roller aprons 18 provided with closedly spaced rolls 17 are disposed via wedge-shaped guide skids 19 as the equipment behind the twin caster 1.
