摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To extract easily and efficiently iron ion by using an extracting solvent contg. the org. phosphinic acid expressed by the specific general formula as an extracting agent for extracting the iron ion from an aq. soln. CONSTITUTION:The extracting solvent contg. org. phosphinic acid expressed by the formula (R<1>, R<2> are C1-20 alkyl; the sum of the C atom of R<1>, R<2> is 12-36, R<1> and R<2> are the same or different) as an extracting agent is brought into liquid-liquid contact with an aq. soln. contg. at least Fe(III) to extract at least Fe(III) into the solvent (org. phase). A mineral acid or alkali material is added thereto if necessary in order to make the pH of the solvent suitable for extracting iron or other metallic ions. The org. phase is then separated from the aq. soln. Reverse extraction of Fe(III) into the aq. phase is made possible by bringing the org. phase contg. Fe(III) into liquid-liquid contact with an aq. soln. contg. a mineral acid.</p>
