PURPOSE:To raise specific power and thermal efficiency as well as to improve antiknocking properties, by installing a squishy area in position between a curved surface, being formed between ridgelines, and a cylinder hole, in a combustion chamber forming a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:A first ridgeline 8 passes the center of a combustion chamber 6 of a cylinder head 2 and its length does not reach to a cylinder hole 4. Both second and third ridgelines 10 and 12 in parallel with the first ridgeline 8 are installed distributively at both sides. Each of spark plug setting holes 18 and 20 is made up in the central part of curved concave parts 14 and 16. A squishy area 30 is formed in space between curved surfaces 22, 24 and the cylinder hole 4 while another squishy area 32 is as well formed in space between curved surfaces 26, 28 and the cylinder hole 4. With this constitution, specific power and thermal efficiency can be raised and, what is more, antiknocking properties are improvable. |
