PURPOSE:To seal tightly and hermetically the joint part of a metallic can body plate without intrusion by forming an adhesive layer larger than the folding width on the preheated surface of the inside surface of the outside seam in said joint part and reheating the joint part to shrink or to expand the excess adhesive layers after folding and lock seaming. CONSTITUTION:A hot meltable adhesive layer of a polyamide resin, etc. is formed more largely 14 than two-fold 11 of a folding width 12 on the preheated inside surface of the outside seam in the joint part 11 of a metallic can body plate 10. The excessive adhesive layers 42, 43 are shrunk or expanded 18 by reheating after folding and lock seaming to maintain the hermetic state free from intrusion in the side seamed part that contacts with inside liquid. Both body and flange part are hermetically sealed 18 and the higher tightness is assured. |
