Method for transmitting a colour television signal

In order to reduce cross-colour and cross-luminance interference in the transmission of a colour television signal which contains a luminance signal component and a modulated colour subcarrier, it is proposed that only the luminance signal be transmitted with the full band width of the transmission channel during any desired line and that a frequency multiplex be transmitted during the subsequent line, which frequency multiplex consists of the luminance signal and the modulated colour subcarrier, etc.
