A device for combining crown roof tiles in groups of two comprises a conveying line which advances and aligns the roof tiles, on which line the roof tiles lie flatly and transversely to the conveying direction and in whose transport region a turning device for turning the roof tiles through 180 DEG is arranged. The turning part of the turning device has a lever to which a suction plate is attached which in the initial position is situated in a horizontal position somewhat beneath the conveying line. The lever supporting the suction plate is rotatably mounted at one end on one side of a raisable and lowerable support, while a rocker arm which is connected to the lever via a chain drive rotatably engages on the other end of the support. In addition, a mounting is attached below the support. The rocker arm and the mounting are each connected to a set of rods and a crank, the set of rods which is connected to the rocker arm, and the crank, which rotate the lever with the suction plate through 180 DEG , being connected to a drive. The set of rods which is connected to the mounting, and the crank, which move the support, and therefore the lever with suction plate, up and down, are connected to the drive via a chain drive.
