A dressing to be applied to extensive wound areas for a period of not less than 24 to 48 hours prior to attempting a skin graft is a two layer sheet material comprising a lower layer of porous foam material having an open pore volume of 70-90% and an upper layer of a microporous synthetic plastics material formed of a polyurethane elastomer of M.wt. at least 15000. The entire sheet material is impregnated with an 0.01 to 15% by weight solution of an antiseptic agent. |
