PURPOSE:To prevent staining due to toner sticking to the front edge of a blade and prevent the formation of black stripes by turning on and off the blade at specific timing before image formation, and then bringing the blade into contact with a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body 10 is charged electrostatically before image formation and passed through a blade part to stick toner sticking to the blade 14 to the photosensitive body 10. Then, the photosensitive body is destaticized to lower its surface potential for cleaning, and a series of copying operations is carried out and the blade 14 and a brush roller 13 are separated from the photosensitive body 10 until the part on the photosensitive body which is charged electrostatically firstly passes through the blade part, and then brought into contact with the photosensitive body 10. Consequently, toner is prevented from sticking to the 1st sheet in the beginning of copying, and the formation of black stripes on the photosensitive body due to the redevelopment of toner at a cleaning part is prevented during separation discharge when copy paper is separated. |
