PURPOSE:To improve utilization efficiency and availability by providing a both- surface copying machine with two image forming parts, and performing the one- surface copying operation of one normal image forming device and taking a copy if the other becomes abnormal. CONSTITUTION:The 1st image forming part 22 equipped with a semiconductor laser 220, etc., and the image forming part 25 equipped with a semiconductor laser 250, etc., are provided, and form feeding devices 23 and 26 are fitted thereto respectively. Further, a form handling part 24 is arranged on a conveyance path, whose conveyance direction is switched to a direction Y to take a both- surface copy. If one of the image forming parts 22 and 25 becomes abnormal, it is inhibited from being used and the normal one is placed in readiness to display that to an operator, performing switching to one-surface copying mode. Therefore, the utilization efficiency and availability are improved without losing the all functions of copying regardless of the occurrence of a fault to one of the both. |
